Orthodontics

At T. Kirk Crane, DDS, orthodontic treatments are designed to reposition your natural teeth, shift them into better alignment or adjust your bite into a healthy position. The benefit of orthodontic treatments is that they can improve your smile's appearance and function.

When your teeth are crooked or your bite is misaligned, you can develop problems with your oral health and issues associated with your teeth' function. For example, crowded teeth can be more difficult to brush properly and floss than straighter. Braces and aligners are designed to move the teeth into place over time gradually. Once the process is over, you should be able to use proper brushing and flossing techniques to maintain healthy, clean teeth and gums.

Clear Aligners

The clear aligner is made of strong plastic material that is custom-made to perfectly fit a patient’s teeth and gums. Unlike metal braces, they are removable and can be removed whenever needed. This enables patients to enjoy their favorite foods without worrying about damaging their braces or breaking off brackets. Unlike traditional metal braces, many adults prefer clear bracers as they are barely noticeable to others. This treatment is more efficient as it is fast and convenient compared to other orthodontic treatments. If worn correctly, they can give you a straighter and more attractive smile within as little as six months. However, constant compliance is necessary to see the best results from your treatment.

Braces

Braces are worn around the teeth to straighten them and improve their look. Brackets, bands, and wires are standard components of braces. These additions hold the wires in place on the teeth and guide the teeth into proper alignment. Several different braces are available, including clear ceramic and metal braces. Metal braces are the most common form of braces and consist of metal brackets and wires. Ceramic braces are tooth-colored and popular among adults and older teens.
